Cut Flower Care

Care

  • Cut the stems at least 3cm shorter and at an angle (as this creates a larger surface area for the flower to drink from).

  • Fill your vase at least 2/3 full of clean water. Remove the leaves from the stems that will be submerged in water to keep the water free from germs and clean, adding flower food will help with this too.

  • After a few days refresh the water in your vase and add your 2nd sachet of flower food.

Consider

  • Use a vase at least half the height of your blooms or cut to this length. The width of the vase will depend on the number of stems you have – the wider necked vases will hold more stems.

  • Place your vase of blooms somewhere it can be seen and enjoyed! Away from drafts, direct sun and heat sources.

Preserved Flower Care

Care:

Preserved flowers require minimal care.

  • To keep them looking their best, avoid direct sunlight, humidity, and water.

  • Dust them gently with a soft brush or a hairdryer on a cool setting.

  • Keep them out of reach of animals and children, as they can be fragile and non-edible.

Tropical Plant Care

  • Humidity:

Maintain a humidity level of at least 60% by misting regularly, using a humidifier, or placing plants on pebble trays.

  • Temperature:

    Maintain a moderate temperature range of 15 to 30°C (59 to 86°F).

  • Fertilizing:

Fertilize regularly (once a month) with a diluted liquid or water-soluble fertilizer.

  • Repotting:

Repot every 2 years in spring to provide fresh, well-draining soil and ensure the plant has ample space to grow.

  • Protection:

Protect plants from drafts, cold air vents, and sudden temperature changes.

  • Watering:

Water when the top inch of soil is dry, ensuring good drainage to avoid root rot.

  • Light:

Provide bright, indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight which can scorch delicate foliage.

Cactus/Succulent Care

1. Light

  • Provide bright, indirect sunlight.

  • Most succulents need 6 hours of light per day.

  • A south or east-facing window is ideal.

2. Watering

  • Use the “soak and dry” method:

    • Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry out completely before watering again.

  • In winter, reduce watering significantly (about once a month or less).

  • Avoid letting water sit in the pot's saucer or base.

3. Soil

  • Use well-draining soil—a cactus or succulent mix is best.

  • You can mix standard potting soil with sand or perlite.

4. Pot

  • Use a pot with drainage holes.

  • Terra cotta pots are ideal—they allow moisture to evaporate better than plastic.

5. Temperature

  • Ideal range: 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C).

  • Protect from frost—succulents generally aren’t cold-hardy unless specified.

6. Fertilizer

  • Fertilize lightly during the growing season (spring/summer).

  • Use a diluted, balanced fertilizer (e.g., 10-10-10 or 20-20-20) once a month.
